The Christmas One

Merry Christmas and Happy new year!

This is the last blog until after the new year as I will be going back to the UK for a few days. Dolly will be coming with me and Annie, the chickens and our new friend Toby will be lovingly looked after by the neighbour. Toby (pictured below) was found curled up and fast asleep in a cosy corner of the barn, in a little bed of straw he had made for himself. A handful of food and cuddle later we were friends! Back to Dolly, I will keep you all posted on how she gets on in the car, on the ferry and in the big town of Southampton on her big trip.

Don’t forget to check out our special Christmas YouTube video posted today. Its nice and short and covers some of the main French Christmas traditions. For those who watch the last video, don’t worry, there is not a single tractor engine in site! No air filters to clean, no fan belts to tension.

Now, I am not normally very big on Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it as a child, but as an adult I have never seen the appeal; and as time went on I got more and more tired of the consumerism that it has begun to represent and the huge negative environmental impact it has. But, after so many weeks on my own, it will be wonderful to be back with my wife. This year, Christmas will be about being with my loved ones – as is should be. Of course my thoughts are with all those who will not have that privilege this year. But Christmas is the perfect time to fondly remember loved ones too.

At Elevage Jolivet we would like to thank you all for your support so far. Your likes, comments and follows on our social media really do help build our brand. The content over the next few month and year will really start to pick up the pace as the animals start to arrive and the real fun can begin. We have new editing software that should make for much more creative and slick YouTube videos (Once I work out how to use it).

In the next few month we will be announcing the dates for our smallholding courses and farming holidays (for autumn 2018). We will also be announcing exciting and fun investment opportunities. Forget savings accounts, the stock market or bitcoin! It’s all about cows now. A steady, fruitful investment that remains great fun. So if you, or know someone who is interested in a course or investment, drop us a line or e-mail. Glossy brochures are in the works.

So thank you all again and Merry Christmas and Happy new year!
